Arata is classiclly trained classically Her medium of choice is oil paints on canvas . Her favorite subject matter is the portrait or figure. Arata has a strong connection to New Orleans and her figures are often in mystical and carnival settings. Arata’s first love is fine art, but she also has a passion for the decorative arts and crafts. Her new body of works is a marriage of the two genres. The figures are classically executed in oils, but enhanced with mixed medias, including molding pastes and foils.
